Finally, one I can support.
Night falls: Hillary sweeps Pennsylvania
23 04 2008
A drop of humanity for a sea of power.
Rebuking Obama, bitter racists from all across the great white state of Pennsylvania flooded the polls to carry Hillary to a crushing victory. Now who’s bitter?
Hillary is like some sort of evil, dark force that can’t be killed. No matter how many times she’s struck down, like the Black Knight, she just gets up again for the next round.
Of course, Obama’s supporters insist that she should drop out because she can’t win enough delegates to win the nomination. Newsflash: neither can Obama!
If Obama has it all wrapped up, why hasn’t he put Hillary away yet? She was trailing him by ten points going into the election. He outspent her 3-to-1. Instead of closing the deal, he told rural folks that they cling to God and guns because they’re bitter and they responded by clinging bitterly to Hillary. He lost it.
No matter who wins, Obama or Hillary, the election will be decided not by voters, but by party officials who will hand the nomination to their choice.
Which makes the real winner McCain.

Historians invent time machine
22 04 2008Apparently 98% of historians know something we don’t and have declared President Bush’s presidency a failure. The thrust of their assessment hinges on Iraq. Now, if I didn’t know better, I’d say that the conflict in Iraq is not finished yet, so it can’t possible be history, can it? Did they suddenly develop the ability to see into the future?
Historians, as historians, can only account for what has already happened. The story of Iraq has not even finished being written. When they talk about the merits of the future they cease acting as historians and their opinions have no more weight than anybody else’s. It will be a long time before we will be able to look back on the Bush presidency and fully account for all it has affected.

Artiste defends the indefensible
22 04 2008It looks like the case on that wonderful girl’s art isn’t closed after all. The “work” she did over a mound of dead children is an issue again.
Yale said it was a hoax. But as a university seeking to preserve its reputation they have an incentive to, shall we say, be reticent with the truth. After all, if some corporation had been caught in a scandal, would we simply take them at their word that nothing is wrong, and say “that’s that”?
The student who “artificially inseminated” (what?) herself sticks by the story. All she concedes is that there’s no way of knowing how many babies she killed, only that she impregnated herself incessantly over a nine month period and took abortive drugs at the end of each cycle. She even saved physical evidence and video taped herself.
How artistic.

Yale student impregnates herself to create miscarriages — for art
18 04 2008It’s hard to believe it’s real. The Communists of the 30′s and 40′s decreed that “art is a weapon,” bludgeoning any dissenting artist that dared declare the heresy “art for art’s sake.” This view of “art” as a tool to assault morality and cultural norms eventually became taken up as the liberal cause du jour.
A female undergraduate from Yale University has taken that mantra taken farther than ever before.
“Beginning next Tuesday, [art major Aliza] Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself ‘as often as possible’ while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.”
Notes Tom Piatak: “Although Ms. Shvarts’ view of art would have puzzled such as Michelangelo and Raphael, her thoughts are in line with those who defended taxpayer funding of such stellar examples of contemporary ‘art’ as ‘Piss Christ’ and the photographs of Robert Mapplethorpe.”

Mark Steyn on Obama
15 04 2008National Review: “I had a ton of fun covering Kerry’s awkwardness with Americans but, in fairness, it was essentially a consumerist snobbery: he preferred the Newburgh Yacht Club for lunch over the local Wendy’s, he’d rather be windsurfing off Nantucket than rednecking at Nascar, etc. Obama’s snobbery seems more culturally profound, and unlike Kerry he can’t plead the crippling disadvantage of a priviliged childhood. Rather, Barack’s condescension reveals a man out of touch with the rhythms of American life to a degree that’s hard to fathom.”

Musings on Obama’s redneck rampage
15 04 2008Thoughts to share…
- How can Obama even think about condemning people who “get bitter,” “cling to religion,” and “antipathy for people who aren’t like them,” when all three have been on full display in the church that he’s been attending for the last 20 years?
- Isn’t it great how he tries to sell himself as the “common man” while at the same time being the most removed from everyday Americans? His life experience is as diametrically opposed to that of ordinary people as you can get.
- The best part about Obama’s slip is that, for him, and liberals in general, he didn’t think he was saying anything particularly controversial. Tucked away safely in San Francisco, he thought he could speak frankly. Liberals always believe that conservatives and other “unenlightened” types are just dumb racists who suffer from Marx’s “false consciousness,” using the anesthetics of religion and culture to numb themselves to their reality. Obama’s only mistake, from his view, was simply saying so where microphones were nearby.
- Speaking of it being a mainstream belief, liberal supporters have Obama have begun the old two-step defense that always gets trotted out whenever any liberal inadvertently tells the truth about his beliefs. When Kerry made his “dumb people go to Iraq” comment and started that fiasco, liberals scoffed. ”He would never say anything so heinous,” they said, “but what he said is true.” So he never said it, but also, there was nothing wrong with what he said. It’s just common sense; anyone who’s not a rube can see that. And so we have the same playbook busted open for Obama.
- This is funny.
- I was watching CNN, and they were working their fingers to the bone trying to spin this as simply being about “bitterness,” and how “anybody could see” that they’re bitter. It’s so simple!
- Hillary believes that slips like this are proof that nominating Obama is going to result in a landslide victory for McCain. She’s on a quest to save the Democrats from themselves. As long as they keep fighting, that’s fine. More blood for the war machine!
- The fact that Obama even thought going to San Francisco was a good idea says something. Not to mention that he then denounced the rest of America from it.
- This is why liberals never get anywhere on talk radio. On talk radio, you have to say what you believe, but liberals who simply say what they believe sound fascist and condescending. Instead of just calling people stupid and saying they’re better than them, they have to dress it up with fancy words to hide behind.

The mask slips: Obama’s liberal elitist revealed
15 04 2008Obama pretty much just told all of Pennsylvania that they’re a bunch of racist idiots. I like the new strategy. Vote for me, you inbred hicks!
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them… And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Oops, sorry… I just dragged my knuckles on the floor again! HooWHEE! Hey, y’all, let’s all go holla at our preacha ’bout Jeeesus then go drink sum beer ‘n shoot sum guns! Goshdarnit, I’m just bitter! We all here in Penns’lvania are just hangin’ round waitin’ fer tha ‘telligent folk in DC ta tell us what fer cause we cain’t figur all that ther stuff bout politix and such on our own selves… WhooPEE!
…Sorry. Sometimes, I just… lose control.
Obama’s committed the classical political gaffe: saying what he actually believes. In a rare unscripted moment, his mouth got away from his brain and he let out this little gem. We’ve all done it before; sometimes it results in a mere slip of the tongue, and other times it reveals a belief that we wouldn’t want others to have known.
He barely stopped himself from saying, “religion is the opiate of the masses.” Apparently people who actually have a religion are just clinging to it because, well, it sucks to be them, not because they believe it’s actually, you know, true. He lumps in gun rights, antipathy towards illegal immigration and globalization as evidence of bitterness and a product of poor living rather than as actual positions that could have merit. Gun rights? Psh! Obviously these people must have some problems.
Hilariously enough, he condemns people for having doubts about globalization while being the candidate to go after NAFTA the most.
With his angry wife, racist Church and liberal elitist attitude, he’s done what used to be considered impossible and made John Kerry actually look good in comparison. Kerry was a rich buffoon who was out of touch with America, but compared to Obama he seems clueless by comparison. Obama is an anger-filled race-baiting liberal who hates his country.

Obama: Bush stole election from Gore
15 04 2008He basically all but accuses Bush of stealing it.
You’d think they’d get over it at some point, especially considering the person who tried to bend the rules was Gore, not Bush, unless meeting election deadlines is cheating now.

Even NPR notices Obama breaking word on taking money from corporate special interests, despite his claims
15 04 2008NPR:
But boy, he sure does take money from people who work for oil companies. A lot of money. . . .. . .[T]wo of Obama’s fundraisers are oil company executives: Robert Cavnar, the chairman and chief executive of Houston-based Mission Resources Corp., and George Kaiser, the president and CEO of Tulsa-based Kaiser-Francis Oil Co.
He just took $125,000 from Abramoff’s old firm, too.
A presidential candidate is making claims in blatant contradiction with the truth. Why isn’t the media covering it?
But when he touches dirty oil-soaked dollars, they become magically clean.

Saudi cleric on why he, yes, hates our freedoms
13 04 2008Just as that dumb President of ours once dared to suggest:
The problem is that they want to open a debate on whether Islam is true or not, and on whether Judaism and Christianity are false or not. In other words, they want to open up everything for debate. Now they want to open up all issues for debate. That’s it. It begins with freedom of thought, it continues with freedom of speech, and it ends up with freedom of belief. So where’s the conspiracy? They say: Let’s have freedom of thought in Islam… They say: I think, therefore I want to express my thoughts. I want to express myself, I want to talk and say, for example, that there are loopholes in Islam, or that Christianity is the truth. Then they will talk about freedom of belief, and say that anyone is entitled to believe in whatever he wants… If you want to become an apostate – go ahead. Fancy Buddhism? Leave Islam, and join Buddhism. No problem. That’s what freedom of belief is all about. They want freedom of everything. What they want is very dangerous.
IrishSpy quips: “Among other gems of enlightened Islamic wisdom, you’ll discover that, if you don’t want to stone adulterers to death, you’re the barbarian.“
These people don’t see freedom as a political system; they see it as atheism. There is no separation of church and state.
After all, if God has given you the perfect Book, and within those pages are already written the divinely sanctioned way to run society, who are you to try and do what you want?
A democracy thus becomes a society’s way of telling God that they know what’s right better than He does. It’s idolatry; the worship of self instead of the worship of God.
So how do you compromise or live with God forsaken evil? You can’t.

Liberal dream comes true: bill introduced allowing liberals to pay more in taxes
13 04 2008At long last, their nights of feverish insomnia, so consumed were they by their concern for a lack of government revenue, are over.
Of course, if they cared so much about higher taxes, they could have just given the government more all along; the IRS doesn’t care if you sneak them an extra ten grand. Oddly enough, most liberals, despite their talk about citizens “doing their part,” still manage to abide by the same tax reducing behavior as other folk.
But now all that is at an end: thanks to the Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is bill, our generous liberal friends will have no trouble granting the state that additional 10% tithe that they’ve always longed to pay but just couldn’t figure out which box to enter all that extra money they have laying around into.
After all, if they think it’s so important that we pay higher taxes, surely they can show its worth by leading through example?

Greenpeace founder betrays Gaia
13 04 2008In which Patrick Moore, the co-founder of Greenpeace and its leader for 15 years, condemns the monster his movement has become.
That’s why I left Greenpeace: I could see that my fellow directors, none of whom had any science education, were starting to deal with issues around chemicals and biology and genetics, which they had no formal training in, and they were taking the organization into what I call “pop environmentalism,” which uses sensationalism, misinformation, fear tactics, etc., to deal with people on an emotional level rather than an intellectual level.
And so Mr. Moore, has taken his first step… into a larger world.
It’s hard to read that and not think of Al Gore, isn’t it?
This is pretty much all of the current environmental “problems”: peak oil, population explosion, global warming, and so on, are all based on sensationalism and emotions, not actual facts.
Most of the liberal movements were not so radical in the beginning: feminists simply wanted women to have the right to vote; black activists wanted to end slavery, and later Jim Crow; environmentalists wanted our air to be breathable and our water to be clean. They were common sense movements that drew on the entire range of the American public.
But, as happens to every movement, the mainstream leaves as the goals have been achieved, leaving behind the radicals who are never satisfied in charge.

Obama: companies “tricked” families into homes they couldn’t afford
13 04 2008Apparently it’s the company’s fault when somebody messes up, instead of it being the responsibility of the customer to find a good deal.
Nobody put a gun to their heads and made them sign the contracts. Now we have to bail out the people who overextended themselves financially?
These people who were caught in the housing crisis originally managed to make out like bandits by signing their homes to mortgages that were almost completely based on future interest rates. While they may have appeared to be decent at the time, everybody knows that interest rates change, and can change for the worse.
That’s the price you pay when you take a deal that involves a large amount of risk in it.
