National Review: “I had a ton of fun covering Kerry’s awkwardness with Americans but, in fairness, it was essentially a consumerist snobbery: he preferred the Newburgh Yacht Club for lunch over the local Wendy’s, he’d rather be windsurfing off Nantucket than rednecking at Nascar, etc. Obama’s snobbery seems more culturally profound, and unlike Kerry he can’t plead the crippling disadvantage of a priviliged childhood. Rather, Barack’s condescension reveals a man out of touch with the rhythms of American life to a degree that’s hard to fathom.”

Musings on Obama’s redneck rampage
15 04 2008Thoughts to share…
- How can Obama even think about condemning people who “get bitter,” “cling to religion,” and “antipathy for people who aren’t like them,” when all three have been on full display in the church that he’s been attending for the last 20 years?
- Isn’t it great how he tries to sell himself as the “common man” while at the same time being the most removed from everyday Americans? His life experience is as diametrically opposed to that of ordinary people as you can get.
- The best part about Obama’s slip is that, for him, and liberals in general, he didn’t think he was saying anything particularly controversial. Tucked away safely in San Francisco, he thought he could speak frankly. Liberals always believe that conservatives and other “unenlightened” types are just dumb racists who suffer from Marx’s “false consciousness,” using the anesthetics of religion and culture to numb themselves to their reality. Obama’s only mistake, from his view, was simply saying so where microphones were nearby.
- Speaking of it being a mainstream belief, liberal supporters have Obama have begun the old two-step defense that always gets trotted out whenever any liberal inadvertently tells the truth about his beliefs. When Kerry made his “dumb people go to Iraq” comment and started that fiasco, liberals scoffed. ”He would never say anything so heinous,” they said, “but what he said is true.” So he never said it, but also, there was nothing wrong with what he said. It’s just common sense; anyone who’s not a rube can see that. And so we have the same playbook busted open for Obama.
- This is funny.
- I was watching CNN, and they were working their fingers to the bone trying to spin this as simply being about “bitterness,” and how “anybody could see” that they’re bitter. It’s so simple!
- Hillary believes that slips like this are proof that nominating Obama is going to result in a landslide victory for McCain. She’s on a quest to save the Democrats from themselves. As long as they keep fighting, that’s fine. More blood for the war machine!
- The fact that Obama even thought going to San Francisco was a good idea says something. Not to mention that he then denounced the rest of America from it.
- This is why liberals never get anywhere on talk radio. On talk radio, you have to say what you believe, but liberals who simply say what they believe sound fascist and condescending. Instead of just calling people stupid and saying they’re better than them, they have to dress it up with fancy words to hide behind.

The mask slips: Obama’s liberal elitist revealed
15 04 2008Obama pretty much just told all of Pennsylvania that they’re a bunch of racist idiots. I like the new strategy. Vote for me, you inbred hicks!
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them… And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Oops, sorry… I just dragged my knuckles on the floor again! HooWHEE! Hey, y’all, let’s all go holla at our preacha ’bout Jeeesus then go drink sum beer ‘n shoot sum guns! Goshdarnit, I’m just bitter! We all here in Penns’lvania are just hangin’ round waitin’ fer tha ‘telligent folk in DC ta tell us what fer cause we cain’t figur all that ther stuff bout politix and such on our own selves… WhooPEE!
…Sorry. Sometimes, I just… lose control.
Obama’s committed the classical political gaffe: saying what he actually believes. In a rare unscripted moment, his mouth got away from his brain and he let out this little gem. We’ve all done it before; sometimes it results in a mere slip of the tongue, and other times it reveals a belief that we wouldn’t want others to have known.
He barely stopped himself from saying, “religion is the opiate of the masses.” Apparently people who actually have a religion are just clinging to it because, well, it sucks to be them, not because they believe it’s actually, you know, true. He lumps in gun rights, antipathy towards illegal immigration and globalization as evidence of bitterness and a product of poor living rather than as actual positions that could have merit. Gun rights? Psh! Obviously these people must have some problems.
Hilariously enough, he condemns people for having doubts about globalization while being the candidate to go after NAFTA the most.
With his angry wife, racist Church and liberal elitist attitude, he’s done what used to be considered impossible and made John Kerry actually look good in comparison. Kerry was a rich buffoon who was out of touch with America, but compared to Obama he seems clueless by comparison. Obama is an anger-filled race-baiting liberal who hates his country.

Obama: Bush stole election from Gore
15 04 2008He basically all but accuses Bush of stealing it.
You’d think they’d get over it at some point, especially considering the person who tried to bend the rules was Gore, not Bush, unless meeting election deadlines is cheating now.

Even NPR notices Obama breaking word on taking money from corporate special interests, despite his claims
15 04 2008NPR:
But boy, he sure does take money from people who work for oil companies. A lot of money. . . .. . .[T]wo of Obama’s fundraisers are oil company executives: Robert Cavnar, the chairman and chief executive of Houston-based Mission Resources Corp., and George Kaiser, the president and CEO of Tulsa-based Kaiser-Francis Oil Co.
He just took $125,000 from Abramoff’s old firm, too.
A presidential candidate is making claims in blatant contradiction with the truth. Why isn’t the media covering it?
But when he touches dirty oil-soaked dollars, they become magically clean.
